ELNET is a non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening relations between Europe and Israel based on shared democratic values and strategic interests
WHAT we DO
Our Four Key Policy Areas
Antisemitism & Anti-Zionism
ELNET UK is committed to creating healthier rhetoric which does not single out or judge Israel any differently to other democratic states.
A key element of our work is to combat the rising tide of antisemitism and the increasingly polarised, aggressive rhetoric around Zionism and the Jewish people’s right to self-determination. We believe that the IHRA definition of antisemitism is a vital tool in combatting antisemitism and work to see local governments sign up to this important and internationally respected definition.
Israel and the Middle East
A strategic partnership between Europe and Israel serves the interest of all parties and gives invaluable support to the pursuit of peace and stability in the Middle East.
Countering terrorism and radicalisation, encouraging moderation and understanding in peace negotiations, and developing strong economic and political ties to the region are common interests that the work of ELNET UK supports.
1.5+ track diplomatic EFFORTS
We host delegations, dialogues and policy conferences across Europe and Israel.
Leaders are brought into closer engagement with their counterparts across Europe with ELNET facilitating collaboration and policy exchange under the Chatham House Rule.
a strategic partnership
There are a host of policy areas in which the UK and Israel share an interest and in which both countries seek to develop and innovate; from health to education and the environment, for example.
In a post-Brexit and post-COVID world, our capacity to build on these important bilateral ties is needed now more than ever. The UK is Israel’s third largest trade partner and a key player in global diplomacy. Given Israel and the UK’s shared history and common strategic goals, we work to make clear where further deepening our partnership serves the interest of both nations.
